Isla's Baby Blessing

This weekend we had the chance the make a quick trip home to see beautiful baby Isla be blessed by her dad and family. It was such a beautiful blessing and day. It has been hard to be so busy and not see her and Sarah as much as we want but we are looking forward to seeing her more this summer. Isla looked adorable in her dress and didn't even make a peep during church. I got a ton of cuddles in but I can't wait to get more in a few weeks!

So happy to be getting her blessing

 And then she was asleep

Get ready for lots of girls trips Isla!

Look at the way her hands are holding on to my arm.. It melted my heart!

Over the last 6 months, I have had the amazing opportunity to travel all over the country (and to Barcelona) for my job. I get to travel to different ports and train different teams, but also get to see different cities. The best part is that the people who I work with know these cities like the back of their hand and so I always get to see the best parts of the city. I recently went to Vancouver, BC and loved it! I spent a week there and had the chance to go explore the city with one of my co-workers. It was the perfect day out and we pretty much walked the entire downtown area. I never would have dreamed I would have the chance to travel to all of these amazing cities, but I am so grateful I can experience all the different cultures this world has to offer.

The Fort Lauderdale Temple

In October 2009, President Monson announced there would be a Fort Lauderdale temple. At the time, I was newly married and living in Utah. I remember hearing about the temple, but at the time I never would have imagined I would be living in South Florida when the temple was completed. Last fall I was asked to be a part of the Cultural Celebration, the youth performance that occurs the night before the dedication of the temple. For the last 6 months, I worked with the creative committee to help develop the script for the celebration and plan the important performance. It was a lot of work, but absolutely worth it! I had many experience that proved to me that the Lord's temple is a sacred place and miracles will happen in order to bring the temple to an area. I also had the chance to work as a tour guide at the Open House for the temple. Walking through the temple and learning about the importance of each room solidified my testimony of the work that happens in these buildings. I am so excited to have the temple here in South Florida! It really has been a blessing to be a part of
bringing another temple to Florida!

The youth worked so hard and it paid off!

President Uchtdorf came for the temple dedication and cultural celebration. He was so kind to stop and talk with everyone. The members were all beyond excited to meet him and shake his hand (me included!!)

Isla Jane

On March 28th, my sister delivered a beautiful baby girl, Isla Jane. We have all been so excited to meet her, and my sister was a total rock star during her pregnancy. She had to have 2 surgeries and passed several kidney stones, but little Isla arrived without a hitch and has been such a blessing. She is so sweet and growing so fast. We feel so lucky to have her be a part of the family.

Welcome to the world Isla!

Barcelona Adventure: Part 4

Since we had a few days in the city, we decided to do one of the popular day trips around Barcelona, Montserrat. Monserrat is a monastery that is up in the mountains about an hour outside of the city. Many of the people in Spain travel to the monastery to rub the orb that a statue of Mary is holding. We spent a day up at the monastery, taking a tour and seeing the boys choir perform. It was really amazing to think that people were able to build the monastery without all of the
technology we have today.

Our last day we made sure to go back to our favorite restaurants, the beach and we finally got to go the Picasso museum. I loved the museum. The museum took you on a tour of Picasso's life so you could really see his art develop. It was the perfect last day in the city.

I really fell in love with Barcelona. It was the experience of a lifetime and I am so glad I had the chance to take advantage of my time there. I can't wait to go back in the future.
